The Taiwan United Nations Alliance ( TAIUNA )
Introduction
The United Nations (UN) established on October 24, 1945 after World War II, is the largest international organization in modern history. Currently, there are 193 member States. Due to China’s bullying and coercion, Taiwan is the only country in the world that has been excluded from the UN. We citizens of Taiwan are also citizens of the world, and have the responsibility to support UN’s purposes and actively promote Taiwan’s entry into the UN, in order to foster world peace, justice, and security.
The purposes of the United Nations, as set forth in the Charter, are to maintain international peace and security; to develop friendly relations among nations based on the principles of equality and rights to self-determination of peoples; to achieve international cooperation in solving economic, social, cultural and humanitarian problems and in promoting respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms; and to be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations in attaining these ends.
TAIUNA ( The Taiwan United Nations Alliance ) was founded on October 24, 2003, by
Dr. Lung-chu Chen, Rev. William J.K. Lo , Mr. J. Ben Wei and others who care deeply for Taiwan.
